PHILIPPINES IN STATE OF EMERGENCY

The typhoon Haiyan, also called Susana and one of the strongest of the Philippines's history, happened three days ago. He left a landscape of total destruction and complete despair to those affected.

Survivers remember him as a big tragedy "the water was as high as a palm tree. While we were carried away by the water, I saw a lot of people raising her hands and shouting for help" say one of them.

On the other hand many countries and international organizations have already begun to send people and humanitarian assistence, but it's not easy to arrive to the most affected areas. "We are defenceless like newborns. It's really hard. There is no more food in warehouses and shopping centers" Say one of the affected people.

In conclusion: we are in front of the most powerful typhoon of the year. PLEASE HELP!

SUMMER CINEMA

One of this summer night me and my family went to my uncle's house to make a home-made summer cinema. The last summer we also did it but in my house and we saw "The Godfather" so, like we enjoyed it, we decided to repeat this year.

My uncle was the person in charge to do the barbecue, so while he did it, my aunt, my cousin and I were putting a white sheet in the wall to project there the film.

After a short debate we decided that we were going to see a movie of Woody Allen: Annie Hall.
Altought my cousin and me were not totally agree with the decision because we don't like this kind of movies and we prefer others.
Finally we accept the decision but with a condicion: we wanted to eat popcorns and...we got it!

So finally was a great summer night of cinema.

CAMPILLO

12 of August was the birthday of Ana and for celebrate it ana invited us to her village in Cuenca: Campillo de Altobuey.
My parents decided that they wanted to do an excursion so they took me to Campillo by car, but the rest came by bus so Ana and I went to wait for them to the bus stop.
Ana's house was very big and we slept all together on the second floor that was all for us and there we could speak and laugh without disturb nobody.

One of those days we filled ana's garage with a lot of balloons while she was running with Marcos and when she returned we shouted: SURPRISEEE! and we sang the "Happy Birthday" while ana blew the candles.

We were there only for a four days but they were fantastic because we spent all the time together doing the dinner, in the swimming pool, playing cards, with music, with the bikes... in conclusion I will remember those days always with a smile.

MY SUMMER SURPRISE

The surprise of the summer has been to be in the village (Villanueva de Viver) festivals of my cousin.

I say "surprise" because I didn't know it. I only knew that I was going to go to the village to spend a day, and that day was fantastic, so I decided to stay there for a few days more.

Paella's day

That week was the best week to be in Villanueva because were parties, so the first night we went to a disco where my cousin introduced me to his friends. 
Since then we spent all the time together doing the typical activities of Villanueva's parties: paella's day, water wars with balloons, in the laundry, in the swimming pool, discos...

I have met fantastic persons in this village and I have enjoy a lot with them, so I know that the next summer I'm going to return to spend another fantastic week with all of them.

THE CLIENT

This summer holidays I've read a book called "The Client" that it's about Mark Sway (a child of 11 years old) who, accidentally is witness of a Mafia lawyer's murder that shares with Mark a big secret related with an important case for the FBI (the murder of a senator).
Since then, the police and the FBI wants to know the secret and pressure Mark, in return, the Mafia wants his silence.
Mark have to take a difficult decision, and for that he counts with his lawyer's help: Reggie Love who always looks for the best for her client.

John Grisham, the author of this book, is an american lawyer, politician and writer known for his popular judicial thrillers.
In 1984 John heard a case of a girl of 12 years old who had been raped, this story impressed the writer and decided to write his first book basing in this case.

I really enjoyed this book of mistery because if I started to read I could not stop because it always leaves you with intrigue.
Also the book is not very difficult to understand, only some specific words related to judgments.

EXCHANGE WITH NORMANDY

More colder but quieter, more rain but more landscape, French but not Spanish, NORMANDY, NOT VALENCIA

This year my class and I have done an exchage with France, specifically with Normandy.
First the French group came to Valencia, in Fallas, and then from the 10th to 16th april we went to Normandy.
Each of us has stayed in a French house. I have gone to Charlotte's house.
We have visited her school, the "Lycée Marie-Joseph", it was biggest than  Escuela 2 but I prefer the teaching form of Escuela 2. Also we have visited a cheese and a chocolate factory, many little and very beauty villages like: "Honfleur, Pont Leveque, Deauville..." and a museum associated with the disembarkation.
In the end, the last day, spanish people received a surprise: a small visit to Paris!!! That was for me one of the most great days because I stayed with my class for a long time visiting a very beauty city. Was very funny.

Finally I think that it's interesting to have exchanges because you learn different forms of living and costumes to live and also you can practise languages.

CARNIVAL

February arrives and with it the carnival arrives too.
The carnival arrives in Escuela 2. Arrives the carnival's king and with it his expected visits, his delicious candies and his funny messages.
A week full of emotions. Everyone thinks about his fancy dress, and this year, after discarting some options, I decided to dress up as LMFAO with six more persons.
I decided to dress up as LMFAO because I wanted a funny and daring fancy dress.
To tell you a little bit more about my fancy dress, I'd tell you that: LMFAO it's an American electro pop duo formed in 2006 by Stefan Kendal Gordy and Sky Blu (uncle and nephew).
They are defined as "music designers".
On friday, we designed a choreography with the song " Sorry for party rocking", and we chose this song because it's one of the most popular songs of the group and also it's a very very lively song, perfect for a party day like carnival's day! Also we won a diploma for the BEST choreography!!!

In conclusion: Carnival's day was a great day and I'm sure that when I leave Escuela 2, it would be one of the parties that I'm going to miss more and I would like that the next year, to be in Carnival's day.

I'm already thiniking about my next year's fancy dress.

CRANFORD

This christmas holidays I have read a book called Cranford.
The first thing to say is that Cranford is held by the ladies (first sentence of the book)

Cranford is narrated in the first person by Mary Smith. She tells the little adventures that occur in the small English town of Cranford in the first half of the nineteenth century.

 The rules of society were different 150 years ago, buy people stay the same, they can be happy, sad, brave, angry... but above the ladies of Cranford are very kind, and she show it when Miss Matty has problems, all of them wants to help her somehow.

 In Cranford nobody is very rich, but you must not talk about being poor. Indeed not!  That would be a very vulgar thing to do. And in Cranford it is important not to be vulgar...

This is one of the sentences that begins the book and I think it reflects very well the history of the book.

Elizabeth Cleghorn Gaskell, (29 September 1810 – 12 November 1865), was a British novelist and short story writer during the Victorian era. Mrs. Gaskell decided to write her first novel after the tragic death of her first son.

Other novels of Elizabeth are: Mary Barton, Ruth, Sylvia’s lovers, North and South…

I have enjoyed reading this book and also I have learnt how live and think ladies 150 years ago but I think that there were some parts that were a bit long and boring.

I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good time reading and, at the same time, wants to learn about Victorian society.
